The Vibrating Chair
My grandma and grandpa lived with us for a while when I was younger. I don't remember much because I was still in my lower single digits. They were my grandparents from my dad's side. I remember we had numerous things around the house that belonged to grandma and grandpa. one of the things that sticks out in my mind however is the vibrating chair. It almost looked like a normal reclining chair. It was electric and had to be plugged in. My grandpa had it for his back or something. he also had diabetes. I loved that chair so much. I twas like a dark, kind of old banana yellow. Not the prettiest thing in the world but when you turned it on it felt amazing. i would use it whenever possible. i vaguely remember my grandpa also sitting in it once or twice. I was sad when they moved back to Canada, not only because I lost the chair but because I didn't get to see them very often after that.
I also recall one of the times they lived here my grandma bought me this beautiful sapphire ring. The sapphire was pretty big, the ring all around was amazing and I loved it very much. I somehow lost it somewhere, it was sad. I'll never forget the feeling of wearing it and the feeling that I got when she gave it to me. I still have the box it came in even though I don't have the ring.
Another childhood memory I was thinking of today as i was surfing Xanga was this polka dot outfit I used to wear when I was 5 years old. Some of it was black with white polka dots, and some of it was white with black polka dots. I have a family video with me wearing it somewhere.
Nothing much today, i just spent most of the day thinking about the past, playing Tetris and watching stuff on Netflix as usual. I played around with Google Earth for about an hour and found my way to some places i didn't know how to get to before. I have actually never played around with that app very much before, it was fun.
Natalie asked me for some advice on how act in some different situations. I haven't given her nearly as much advice as i should have. I hope she asks me more stuff. I seem to have a lot of the answers she needs to hear. A lot of the stuff she is going through right now i have also gone through. I understand how she feels. I really liked giving her advice on friends, and insecurities, and stuff like that. I can't have children, so I guess at least I can pass my knowledge and wisdom onto my nieces and nephew.

You must have more social skills than you let on.
Grandparents have a special role. There's nothing like them.
@dingus6 - Maybe. I am still figuring my social skills out. i think I might have had them all along, but just didn't realize it until recently.
Yeah, grandparents are awesome.
Every once in a while it is fun to reminisce on our past. You have some great memories to fall back on!
I liked reading this post. it seems to come right from your heart. So good that you can advise Natalie (?your sister, ?niece)
@ZSA_MD - Glad you liked it! I love telling stories from my past. Natalie is my niece.
